Van 15 tot 17 september 2010 wordt het allereerste congres van de EAVLD (European Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians), de Europese associatie voor veterinaire diagnositici, gehouden in Lelystad. De EAVLD werd in april 2009 opgericht en heeft alleen al in Nederland inmiddels meer dan 35 leden. Op het driedaagse congres presenteren zich verschillende onderzoekers, bedrijven en instituten op het gebied van veterinaire diagnostiek. De doelgroep voor zowel de associatie als het congres bestaat niet alleen uit medewerkers van grote veterinaire laboratoria en onderzoeksinstituten, maar strekt zich uit tot dierenartsen met een eigen laboratorium en over alle diersoorten heen.
Onderdelen van het congres zijn o.a. klassieke diagnostiek, moleculaire diagnostiek, multiplex diagnostiek, validatie en accreditatie. Vanwege het internationale karakter van de organisatie is de voertaal Engels.
We invite everybody to share his or her research, knowledge and/or experience with veterinary diagnostic techniques and tools in the widest sense of the word. Abstracts can be submitted for oral presentations or posters. See our the congress website (www.eavld2010.org) for submission guidelines and the abstract template to be used.
EAVLD is a non profit making, independent association of individual members with the mission of improving veterinary and public health by providing a platform for communication among veterinary laboratory diagnosticians and to promote the highest standards in European veterinary laboratories.
The initiative to establish the EAVLD originates from the Club 5 (www.covetlab.org) which is a group of five European Government Veterinary Laboratories. The aim of Club 5 has always been to advance high quality veterinary science by dissemination of knowledge, sharing of experience and the transfer of skills and technology between the members. In 2008 they wanted to broaden that collaboration, especially with respect to high quality veterinary diagnostics at a European level. Modelling itself on the World Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (WAVLD) and the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD), a European Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (EAVLD) was the most logical step towards a strong diagnostic network. The desire is to create an inclusive forum for veterinary laboratory scientists working in all disciplines across the full range of species.
